Whale watching

Humpbacks in Maui

March is humpback season in Maui, and we were fortunate enough to get a chance to see several groups of whales near Ma'alaea Harbour with the Pacific Whale Foundation Whale Watching tour.

I'd highly recommend this tour because not only is it fairly inexpensive (about $20), but it's run by an eco-friendly organization which works to save the humpback whales and their natural habitat. The tour was very informative and fun, and I was pleased to see that the boat operators respected the rules as to how close you can drive towards the whales (that being said, there are no rules as to how close the whales can swim towards the boat - they went right under us!).
